Brenton Dunnington
Percussion Artist / Educator

Award-winning Percussion Artist / Educator, Brenton Dunnington has been performing and teaching percussion for 25+ years.

He has collaborated with an array of Grammy, Academy, and Emmy Award winning composers, artists and Multi-Platinum selling musicians.

Brenton has performed internationally, including in sold-out concerts at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, the ACT CITY Hamamatsu Concert Hall in Japan, and the New Orleans Arena.

He studied marimba with Keiko Abe in Japan, and gave his marimba concerto debut with orchestra at age 15.  He was also the winner of the Yamaha Young Performing Artist competition.

Brenton founded “Cathedral Vibes”, a unique vibraphone concert series performed inside grand, old-world stone cathedrals and domed buildings, where soaring acoustics create a deeply calm, almost healing experience.

Along with producing new snare drum works with Dame Evelyn Glennie and Jeff Queen, he was also the founder of the Classical Marimba League, which was recognized by the New York Times for its contribution to inspiring the development of new music for marimba.

Given Brenton’s passion for helping young percussionists enjoy mallet percussion, learn faster, and have more fun, he offers online private & group lessons for middle & high school percussion students.
